Just lost the whole post. Will try again. :-(
Left Vanessa back at the Twin Bridges Bike Camp. 50 deg quickly warmed to 82 and overcast but no rain.
Long 6.5 - 7.3 % grade climb out of Virginia City, MT but had an exhilarating 7 mile descent with a top speed of 49.7 mph and a gorgeous view of the wide open countryside, although you could not divert your attention from the road for more than a brief moment.
Met Tad who was doing the TransAm from VA and left on 3/31/13 with a friend who bailed out after just 8 days with knee complaints and "was just ready to come home".
He was loosely traveling with a another couple (Aaron and Joy) and a couple from France doing a section of the TransAm on recumbent s.
We climbed 2976 ft. We camped far off route 287 in the bush with an awe inspiring view.
Amazing pics as always, Chuck.
ReplyDeleteI was just over at your house. The bad news is the basement flooded to about 4 feet. The good news is the stream crested and the water went down an inch or two in the last hour or two. It was 1-2" below the floor of your room with the TV and computer. Chris, Curtis and I and some guys from the town were around to help. The town provided an extra pump for your basement. I'll head over again after work.
