5/19/13 day 5 Cape Lookout to Rickreall 79 mi

So far, this has been the only rain-free day that we have  ( other than its having rained when when we first broke camp).  The prior three days had been raining. 53 - 63 deg while riding.
Rode 79 miles.  Lots of ups and downs thanks to shiftinging techtonic plates along the coast "awhile back".  4642 ft of climbing.  See some of the pictures of the beautiful climb up from Lookout.

We had a few stops along the way to admire God's beauty. Also to figure out which way was up or down. See the pictures.

There were a lot of bicyclists in Pacific City since they had just completed a Reach the Beach century the day before.

We spent the night in a field in Rickreall Oregon. Nightfall had been coming so not much of a choice about where to stay.

We got some groceries from the local convenience store. Finally found a microwave oven that I had no clue how to operate. However I didn't feel too bad because it seems like no one else that worked there could make it work in any meaningful or  predictable  way either.

It was a beautiful nature preserve along the way as well. It looks as though they were trying to preserve bird poop as well.

P.S. Happy birthday number 7 to our sweet little Katie.
